This introductory pathway records aspiration or intent within the IOWL calibre journey. It does not award Calibre Credits™.
This document records your aspiration or intent to engage with the principles and exemplars of Positive Value Leadership.
Basal and Bedrock support learners earlier in their IOWL journey and can prepare them for later assessed professional pathways.
This curriculum provides a practical first step into Positive Value Leadership for operational, vocational and early-career learners. It moves from the value of leadership to the value of the individual, helping learners understand conduct, judgement and personal responsibility before progressing towards higher IOWL recognition.
Designed for operational, vocational, early-career or non-academic routes. No degree is required, but learners should be able to read course material independently, complete reflective activities, use My World online and participate responsibly in required learning checks or events. Suitable where a learner is ready to develop workplace judgement, conduct and values-led behaviour.
Dates are shown in chronological order. Induction may take place before the formal course start. Where assessment applies, IOWL shows an assessment window rather than a single fixed sitting.
Tutorials: 3 live tutorials required during the course.
Tutorial dates are scheduled across the learning period and confirmed through My World and course communications.
Introductory pathway assessment arrangements are confirmed through My World and may move towards on-demand assessment.
The curriculum moves from principle to practice, helping learners connect values, behaviour, influence and responsibility through structured online learning, reflection and tutorial engagement.
This module introduces leadership as a practical matter of behaviour, influence and responsibility. Learners consider why leadership matters beyond formal position, how everyday conduct affects others, and why calibre must be developed alongside capability and competency.
This module helps learners move from seeing leadership as a role to understanding it as something shaped by values. It explores how personal decisions, priorities and behaviour give leadership its value and how learners can begin to recognise the standards they bring to others.
This module introduces the Positive Value Leadership framework and the idea that leadership should be grounded in validated positive values rather than vague intentions. Learners begin to understand how the PVL Exemplars provide a structure for responsible conduct, judgement and influence.
This module brings the learning back to the individual. Learners reflect on their own value, choices and conduct, considering how self-awareness, responsibility and personal consistency can support stronger behaviour in study, work and wider life.
This introductory pathway provides a statement of recognition for the learner's calibre journey. It does not award Calibre Credits™.

Bedrock learners receive a Statement of Intent. It records that the learner intends to adhere to the Principles and Exemplars of Positive Value Leadership and is moving towards more formal professional recognition. This pathway does not award Calibre Credits.
This introductory pathway supports aspiration, intent and readiness. Calibre Credits™ are reserved for assessed professional pathways: Foundation, Keystone and Capstone.
Learners use My World to access online learning, tutorials, progress information and course engagement requirements.
