Basal and Bedrock support learners earlier in their IOWL journey and can prepare them for later assessed professional pathways.
This introductory curriculum helps new Aspirants begin their IOWL journey by asking whether leadership, influence and responsibility are relevant to their own life and choices. It introduces Positive Value Leadership as a practical way to reflect on conduct, personal values and the opportunity to develop calibre alongside capability.
Open to anyone beginning their IOWL journey. Suitable for learners who want an introductory understanding of Positive Value Leadership and who can complete short online learning independently. Requires a working email address, accurate mobile number, internet access and willingness to reflect on personal values and conduct.
Dates are shown in chronological order. Induction may take place before the formal course start. Where assessment applies, IOWL shows an assessment window rather than a single fixed sitting.
Tutorials: 3 live tutorials required during the course.
Tutorial dates are scheduled across the learning period and confirmed through My World and course communications.
Introductory pathway assessment arrangements are confirmed through My World and may move towards on-demand assessment.
The curriculum moves from principle to practice, helping learners connect values, behaviour, influence and responsibility through structured online learning, reflection and tutorial engagement.
This module helps learners consider whether leadership is relevant to them, even where they do not hold a formal role or title. It introduces leadership as influence, responsibility and conduct, encouraging learners to reflect on their own values and the effect their choices can have on others.
This module introduces the idea that each learner has one life, one world and one opportunity to decide how they will act within it. It encourages early reflection on personal responsibility, values-led behaviour and the possibility of beginning a structured journey towards greater calibre and integrity.
This introductory pathway provides a statement of recognition for the learner's calibre journey. It does not award Calibre Credits™.

Basal learners receive a Statement of Aspiration. It records that the learner has begun their IOWL journey and aspires to adhere to the Principles and Exemplars of Positive Value Leadership. This is an introductory recognition document and does not award Calibre Credits.
