How the learning commitment is calculated
Approx. 3 hours of guided online learning. Cornerstone is designed as three approximately one-hour self-directed modules using guided reading, examples, short reflection and recorded video where useful.
No live induction or live tutorial is required. The Cornerstone Recognition Assessment becomes available on demand after the required learning has been completed and sits outside the published three-hour learning figure.

What Cornerstone develops
Cornerstone helps learners understand the missing human dimension of employability and performance: how values, judgement, integrity and conduct affect the way Capability and Competency are applied. It then converts that awareness into a deliberate intent to continue Calibre development.
Who this course is for
Open to registered IOWL learners. Designed particularly for students, graduates and early-career learners, but suitable for anyone seeking to understand the role of Calibre in employability and performance. Completion requires three self-directed online learning modules and the Cornerstone Recognition Assessment. No live induction or tutorial is required. The course does not award Calibre Credits, membership status or post-nominals.

What you will study
Cornerstone progresses through three concise modules: why Calibre matters, the employability and HR blind spot, and how to continue developing and evidencing Calibre. Learning is self-directed and may include recorded video alongside guided reading, examples and short reflection.
Module 1
Why Calibre Matters
This module introduces Calibre as the dimension of personal and professional performance concerned with values, judgement, integrity and conduct. Learners distinguish Capability - what a person knows - from Competency - what a person can do - and consider Calibre as a critical multiplier of both, especially where responsibility, pressure, ambiguity and trust matter.
Module 2
The Employability and HR Blind Spot
This module examines the employability gap created when recruitment and development rely mainly on qualifications, experience and skills. Learners explore what employers can readily see about Capability and Competency, what may remain unevidenced about Calibre, and why judgement, integrity, reliability, responsibility and values-led conduct can distinguish people with otherwise similar qualifications.
Module 3
Developing and Evidencing Your Calibre
This module moves from awareness to development intent. Learners consider Calibre as something to be deliberately developed rather than claimed, are introduced to Perpetual Calibre Development, Foresight, Insight and Hindsight, and the discipline of responding rather than reacting. They also distinguish Cornerstone recognition from formally assessed Calibre Credits and establish an intention to continue structured Calibre development at an appropriate stage of study or career.

Successful Cornerstone learners receive a Statement of Calibre Awareness and Development Intent™. It provides a verifiable record of introductory Calibre understanding and declared development intent, while clearly distinguishing this from formally assessed Calibre Credits™.
