How professional standing is earned
The award does not arise from attendance alone. Eligible professional pathways combine developmental engagement with assessment capable of supporting the recognition claim.
Positive Value Leadership™ provides the developmental basis. The Curriculum and Calibre Assurance Framework™ protects alignment between curriculum, assessment and recognition. The Global Institute for Calibre & Integrity™ provides the specialist awarding function.
Four parts of the recognition proposition
A successful professional standing outcome requires more than completing content.
1. Required learning and reflected engagement
The learner must meaningfully engage with the applicable PVL pathway and meet the participation requirements relevant to that course.
2. Knowledge assessment
The knowledge component tests understanding of the relevant principles, exemplars and frameworks.
3. Structured reflective assessment
The reflective component examines the quality and authenticity of reasoning, insight and application. It is not a personality test and does not claim moral perfection.
4. GICI awarding decision
Where the required standard is met, the Global Institute for Calibre & Integrity™ awards the applicable professional standing and Calibre recognition.
Calibre Credits™: 31 to 50 on successful assessed professional pathways
On eligible Foundation, Keystone and Capstone pathways, candidates who pass the required professional assessment can receive between 31 and 50 Calibre Credits™. Calibre Credits are not university academic credit, CPD points, attendance points or a personality score. They are a distinct IOWL recognition of assessed Calibre development, awarded through the Global Institute for Calibre & Integrity™.

Professional standing is a milestone, not the end point
Calibre has to remain alive in changing contexts. A person who receives professional standing continues to encounter new responsibilities, pressures, decisions and consequences.
Perpetual Calibre Development™ provides the lifelong architecture for continuing development. It is continuous, but need-led and contextually driven. The learner can return to My World as circumstances change, use reflection to learn from experience and deliberately prepare for the responsibilities ahead.
